There Arises Light in the Darkness
What good is art in the remembrance of pain?
Some may say that offering music in response to an historic atrocity isn’t enough, while others would rather leave the past in the past.
But to me, a musical composition seemed the exact right commemoration of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
So I wrote There Arises Light in the Darkness. It’s meant to assure all who grieve that someone else understands their pain. It’s also meant to show that despite suffering even as great as the Tulsa Race Massacre, there’s still reason for hope.
May you find in this work, and all around you, light arising in the darkness.
